Sausage Dip

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and will have a happy and productive 2015.

We obviously were party animals last night seeing as how I’m awake at 6:30 am. I’m actually ashamed to say that we were asleep by 11 and missed ringing in the New Year. Give us some slack though. That’s what happens when you have a 3 year old with limitless energy, and a 2 month old.

All 4 of us did have a party with all of the couples from our Sunday school class at church and their kids. It was a lot of fun, and there was some delicious food. Everyone brought their favorite snack/appetizer type food. I decided too take Sausage Dip. My mom makes it every year for Christmas Eve and It. Is. Good.

All you need is:

32 oz. breakfast sausage
2.5 blocks of cream cheese
2 cans of Rotel

First start off by browning the breakfast sausage in a skillet.

Then after its all cooked thoroughly, drain the fat.

Next, add the 2 cans of Rotel, including the liquid.

Then add in the 2.5 blocks of cream cheese. I break mine up so it melts faster.

After adding everything I transferred the mixture to a crock pot. It just makes it easier to throw it in a crock pot and leave it to heat up and all melt and mix together. Also, it makes it easier to transfer and keep warm wherever you are taking it.

Tip: Invest in crock pot liners. They will make your life 100 times easier.


So all you pretty much have to do now is let the cream cheese melt, then pop open a bag of tortilla chips, and rake in the compliments on your delicious dip. Enjoy!
